Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them. |
그러므로 그분께서는 자신이 택한 자 모세가 그 갈라진 곳에서 자신 앞에 서서 자신의 진노를 돌이켜 그들을 멸하지 않게 하지 아니하였더라면 친히 그들을 멸하였으리라고 말씀하셨도다. |

Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word: |
참으로 그들이 그 기쁨의 땅을 멸시하며 그분의 말씀을 믿지 아니하고 |

But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD. |
자기들의 장막에서 불평하며 주의 음성에 귀를 기울이지 아니하였도다. |

Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness: |
그러므로 그분께서 자신의 손을 들어 그들을 치사 광야에서 그들을 거꾸러뜨리시고 |

To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands. |
그들의 씨도 민족들 가운데 거꾸러뜨리시며 그들을 여러 땅에 흩으셨도다. |

Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them. |
이같이 자기들이 창안한 것들로 그분의 분노를 일으키므로 재앙이 그들에게 임하였도다. |

Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed. |
그때에 비느하스가 일어서서 심판을 집행하니 이에 재앙이 그쳤도다. |

And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore. |
그분께서 그것을 그에게 영원토록 모든 세대에 이르는 의로 여기셨도다. |

They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes: |
그들이 또 다툼의 물들에서 그분의 노를 일으켰으므로 그들로 인하여 모세에게 화가 미쳤나니 |

Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips. |
이는 그들이 그의 영을 자극하므로 그가 자기 입술로 분별없이 말하였기 때문이로다. |
