Maschil of Asaph. | Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. |
(아삽의 마스길) 오 내 백성이여, 내 법에 귀를 기울이고 내 입의 말들에 너희 귀를 기울일지어다. |

I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: |
내가 비유로 내 입을 열어 옛적부터 있던 은밀한 말들을 말하리니 |

|
Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. |
그것들은 우리가 들어서 아는 바요, 우리 조상들이 우리에게 말해 준 바라. |

|
We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. |
우리가 그것들을 그들의 자손들에게 숨기지 아니하고 주를 찬양함과 그분의 능력과 그분께서 행하신 놀라운 일들을 다가올 세대에게 보이리로다. |

|
For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: |
그분께서 한 증언을 야곱 안에 굳게 세우시며 한 법을 이스라엘 안에 지정하시고 우리 조상들에게 명령하사 그들이 그것들을 그들의 자손들에게 알리게 하셨으니 |

|
That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: |
이것은 다가올 세대 곧 태어날 자손들이 그것들을 알게 하려 하심이라. 그들이 일어나서 자기 자손들에게 그것들을 밝히 알리리니 |

|
That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: |
이것은 그들이 자기들의 소망을 하나님 안에 두고 하나님께서 행하신 일들을 잊지 아니하며 그분의 명령들을 지켜서 |

| 시 78:8 |
|
And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God. |
그들의 조상들 곧 완고하고 반역하는 세대요, 자기 마음을 바르게 하지 아니하고 하나님을 향해 영을 확고히 세우지 않은 세대와 같이 되지 않게 하려 함이로다. |

|
The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. |
에브라임 자손은 무장하고 활을 지녔으나 전쟁의 날에 뒤로 물러갔도다. |

They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; |
그들이 하나님의 언약을 지키지 아니하고 그분의 법 안에서 걷기를 거절하며 |

|
And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them. |
그분께서 행하신 일들과 그들에게 보이신 이적들을 잊었도다. |

|
Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. |
그분께서 이집트 땅에서 소안 들판에서 그들의 조상들의 눈앞에서 놀라운 일들을 행하셨도다. |

|
He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap. |
그분께서 바다를 가르사 그들을 지나가게 하시며 물들을 무더기같이 서게 하시고 |

|
In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. |
또한 낮에는 구름으로, 밤에는 내내 불빛으로 인도하시며 |

|
He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. |
광야에서 반석을 쪼개시고 광대하게 깊은 곳에서 나온 물을 그들에게 주어 마시게 하시며 |

|
He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. |
또 그 반석에서 시내들을 내사 물들이 강같이 흐르게 하셨으나 |

|
And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. |
여전히 그들은 광야에서 지극히 높으신 이를 노엽게 함으로 그분께 더욱 죄를 지었도다. |

|
And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. |
또 그들이 자기 욕심대로 먹을 것을 구하여 자기 마음속에서 하나님을 시험하였으니 |

| 시 78:19 |
|
Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? |
참으로 그들이 하나님을 대적하며 말하여 이르기를, 하나님이 광야에서 상을 준비할 수 있으리요? 하였도다. |

| 시 78:20 |
|
Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people? |
보라, 그분께서 그 반석을 치시매 물들이 쏟아지고 시내들이 흘러넘쳤도다. 또 그들이, 그분이 빵도 줄 수 있으리요? 그분이 자신의 백성을 위해 고기도 마련할 수 있으리요? 하였도다. |

Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; |
그러므로 주께서 이것을 들으시고 분노하시매 이에 야곱을 향해 불이 붙고 또한 이스라엘을 향해 분노가 올라왔나니 |

|
Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation: |
이는 그들이 하나님을 믿지 아니하며 그분의 구원을 신뢰하지 아니하였기 때문이로다. |

|
Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, |
그럼에도 그분께서 위로부터 구름들에게 명령하시며 하늘의 문들을 여시고 |

|
And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. |
그들에게 만나를 비같이 내려 먹게 하시며 하늘의 곡식을 그들에게 주시매 |

| 시 78:25 |
|
Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full. |
사람이 천사들의 음식을 먹었으며 그분께서 그들에게 먹을 것을 풍족히 보내셨도다. |

|
He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind. |
그분께서 하늘에서 동풍이 불게 하시고 자신의 권능으로 남풍을 끌어들이시며 |

|
He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea: |
또 그들 위에 티끌처럼 고기를 비같이 내리시고 깃털 가진 날짐승을 바다의 모래같이 내리사 |

|
And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. |
그들의 진영 한가운데에 그들의 처소의 사방에 그것을 떨어뜨리시매 |

|
So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire; |
이처럼 그들이 먹고 충분히 배불렀나니 그분께서 그들의 원하는 바를 그들에게 주셨도다. |

|
They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths, |
그러나 그들이 자기 욕심에서 떠나지 아니하므로 그들의 먹을 것이 아직 그들의 입에 있을 때에 |

|
The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel. |
하나님의 진노가 그들에게 임하여 그들 중의 가장 살진 자들을 죽이시고 이스라엘 중에서 택한 사람들을 쳐서 넘어뜨리셨도다. |

|
For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works. |
이 모든 일에도 불구하고 그들은 여전히 죄를 짓고 그분의 놀라운 일들에도 불구하고 믿지 아니하였으니 |

|
Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble. |
그러므로 그분께서 그들의 날들을 헛된 것 가운데서 소멸시키시며 그들의 햇수를 고난 가운데서 소멸시키셨도다. |

|
When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God. |
그분께서 그들을 죽이실 때에야 비로소 그들이 그분을 구하며 돌이켜서 일찍 하나님을 구하여 여쭙고 |

|
And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer. |
하나님께서 자기들의 반석이시며 높으신 하나님께서 자기들의 구속자이심을 기억하였도다. |

| 시 78:36 |
|
Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. |
그럼에도 불구하고 그들이 자기들의 입으로 그분께 아첨하며 자기들의 혀로 그분께 거짓말을 하였으니 |

|
For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant. |
이는 그들의 마음이 그분께 대하여 바르지 못하고 그들이 그분의 언약 안에서 확고하지 아니하였기 때문이라. |

|
But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath. |
그러나 그분은 동정심이 많으시므로 그들의 불법을 용서하시며 그들을 멸하지 아니하시고 참으로 여러 번 자신의 분노를 돌이키시며 자신의 모든 진노를 발하지 아니하셨으니 |

|
For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again. |
그들이 다만 육체에 지나지 아니하며 지나가고 다시 오지 아니하는 바람임을 그분께서 기억하셨도다. |

|
How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! |
그들이 얼마나 자주 광야에서 그분을 격노하게 하고 사막에서 그분을 슬프게 하였던가! |

|
Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. |
참으로 그들이 뒤로 돌이켜 하나님을 시험하고 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이를 제한하였도다. |

|
They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy. |
그들이 그분의 손을 기억하지 아니하며 그분께서 자기들을 원수로부터 건지신 날도 기억하지 아니하였도다. |

|
How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan: |
그분께서 이집트에서 자신의 표적들을 행하시고 소안 들판에서 자신의 이적들을 행하사 |

|
And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink. |
그들의 강들과 큰물을 피로 변하게 하셔서 그들이 마실 수 없게 하셨으며 |

| 시 78:45 |
|
He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them. |
여러 종류의 파리를 그들 가운데 보내사 그들을 삼키게 하시고 개구리들을 보내사 그들을 멸하게 하셨도다. |

|
He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust. |
그분께서 또한 그들의 소출을 쐐기벌레에게 주시고 그들의 수고한 것을 메뚜기에게 주셨으며 |

|
He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost. |
그들의 포도나무를 우박으로, 그들의 돌무화과나무를 서리로 멸하셨도다. |

|
He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts. |
그분께서 또한 그들의 가축을 우박에, 그들의 양 떼를 뜨거운 벼락에 넘겨주시고 |

| 시 78:49 |
|
He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them. |
그들 가운데 재앙의 천사들을 보내심으로 자신의 맹렬한 분노와 진노와 격노와 고난을 그들에게 내리셨으며 |

|
He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence; |
자신의 분노에 이르는 길을 닦으사 그들의 혼을 아끼지 아니하심으로 죽음을 면치 못하게 하시고 그들의 생명을 역병에 넘겨주셨으며 |

|
And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham: |
이집트에서 처음 난 모든 것 즉 함의 장막들에 있던 그들의 힘의 으뜸인 것을 치셨도다. |

|
But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. |
그러나 그분께서 자신의 백성은 양같이 나아가게 하시고 그들을 광야에서 양 떼같이 지도하시며 |

|
And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. |
그들을 안전하게 인도하시니 이에 그들이 두려워하지 아니하였으나 그들의 원수들은 바다가 휩쓸었도다. |

|
And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased. |
또 그분께서 그들을 자신의 성소의 경계 곧 자신의 오른손이 사신 이 산으로 데려오시고 |

| 시 78:55 |
|
He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents. |
또한 이교도들을 그들 앞에서 쫓아내시며 줄을 그어 그들에게 상속 재산을 나누어 주시고 이스라엘의 지파들이 자기들의 장막에 거하게 하셨도다. |

|
Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies: |
그러나 그들이 지극히 높으신 하나님을 시험하고 격노하게 하며 그분의 증언들을 지키지 아니하고 |

| 시 78:57 |
|
But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow. |
오히려 뒤로 돌이켜 자기들의 조상들같이 신실하지 아니하게 대하며 속이는 활처럼 빗나갔으니 |

| 시 78:58 |
|
For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images. |
그들이 자기들의 산당들로 그분의 분노를 일으키고 자기들의 새긴 형상들로 그분의 질투를 일으켰도다. |

| 시 78:59 |
|
When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel: |
하나님께서 이것을 들으실 때에 진노하시며 이스라엘을 몹시 싫어하사 |
# |
| 시 78:60 |
|
So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men; |
실로의 성막 곧 친히 사람들 가운데 두신 장막을 버리시고 |
# |
| 시 78:61 |
|
And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand. |
자신의 능력을 포로로 넘겨주시며 자신의 영광을 원수의 손에 넘겨주시고 |

| 시 78:62 |
|
He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance. |
또한 자신의 백성을 칼에 넘겨주시며 자신의 상속 백성에게 진노하시매 |
# |
| 시 78:63 |
|
The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage. |
불이 그들의 청년들을 소멸시키고 그들의 처녀들이 시집가지 못하며 |
# |
| 시 78:64 |
|
Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation. |
그들의 제사장들이 칼에 쓰러지고 그들의 과부들이 애곡하지 못하였도다. |

|
Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine. |
그때에 주께서 잠에서 깬 사람같이 깨어나시고 포도주로 인하여 외치는 용사같이 깨어나사 |

|
And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach. |
자신의 원수들을 뒷부분에서 치시고 그들로 하여금 영구한 치욕을 당하게 하셨도다. |

Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: |
또 그분께서 요셉의 장막을 거절하시며 에브라임 지파를 택하지 아니하시고 |

|
But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. |
오직 유다 지파 곧 친히 사랑하신 시온 산을 택하사 |

| 시 78:69 |
|
And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever. |
자신의 성소를 높은 궁궐들같이 지으시되 친히 영원토록 굳게 세우신 땅같이 지으셨도다. |

|
He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: |
그분께서 또한 자신의 종 다윗을 택하시되 그를 양 우리에서 취하시고 |

| 시 78:71 |
|
From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. |
새끼 밴 암양들을 따라다니던 그를 데려다가 자신의 백성 야곱과 자신의 상속 백성 이스라엘을 먹이게 하셨더니 |

|
So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands. |
이에 그가 자기 마음의 순전함에 따라 그들을 먹이고 자기 손의 능숙함으로 그들을 지도하였도다. |
