The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; |
다윗의 아들 이스라엘 왕 솔로몬의 잠언이라. |

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; |
이것은 지혜와 훈계를 알게 하며 명철의 말씀들을 파악하게 하고 |

잠 1:3 |

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; |
지혜와 정의와 판단의 공의와 공평의 훈계를 받게 하며 |

잠 1:4 |
|
To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. |
단순한 자에게 민감함을 주고 젊은 자에게 지식과 분별을 주기 위한 것이니 |

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. |
잠언과 해석과 지혜로운 자들의 말들과 그들의 은밀한 말들을 깨달을지니라. |

잠 1:7 |

¶ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. |
¶ 주를 두려워하는 것이 지식의 시작이거늘 어리석은 자들은 지혜와 훈계를 멸시하느니라. |

|
My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: |
내 아들아, 네 아버지의 훈계를 듣고 네 어머니의 법을 버리지 말라. |

잠 1:9 |
|
For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. |
그것들이 네 머리에 은혜의 장식이 되고 네 목에 사슬이 되리로다. |

¶ My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. |
¶ 내 아들아, 죄인들이 너를 꾈지라도 너는 동의하지 말라. |
