지혜로운 여자는 다 자기 집을 세우되 어리석은 여자는 자기 손으로 그것을 허무느니라. |

He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him. |
자기의 곧바름 속에서 걷는 자는 주를 두려워하나 자기 길들이 비뚤어진 자는 그분을 멸시하느니라. |

|
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them. |
어리석은 자의 입에는 교만의 막대기가 있으나 지혜로운 자들의 입술은 그들을 보존하리로다. |

|
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox. |
소들이 없는 곳에는 구유가 깨끗하나 소의 힘으로 많은 소출을 얻느니라. |

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies. |
신실한 증인은 거짓말을 하지 아니하나 거짓 증인은 거짓말을 하리로다. |

|
A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. |
비웃는 자는 지혜를 구하여도 얻지 못하거니와 지식은 깨닫는 자에게 쉬우니라. |

|
Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. |
네가 어리석은 자에게 지식의 입술이 있음을 보지 못하거든 그의 앞에서 떠날지니라. |

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. |
분별 있는 자의 지혜는 그의 길을 깨닫는 것이나 어리석은 자들의 어리석음은 속이는 것이니라. |

Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour. |
어리석은 자들은 죄를 조롱하나 호의는 의로운 자들 가운데 있느니라. |

The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy. |
마음이 마음의 쓰라림을 알며 낯선 자는 마음의 기쁨과 상관하지 못하느니라. |

The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish. |
사악한 자의 집은 뒤엎어지려니와 곧바른 자의 장막은 흥왕하리라. |

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. |
어떤 길은 사람이 보기에 옳으나 그것의 끝은 사망의 길들이니라. |

Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness. |
심지어 웃을 때에도 마음에 슬픔이 있고 그 희락의 끝은 근심이니라. |

The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. |
마음이 타락한 자는 자기 자신의 길들로 채워지려니와 선한 사람은 자신으로부터 만족을 얻으리라. |

|
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. |
단순한 자는 모든 말을 믿으나 분별 있는 자는 자기의 가는 것을 잘 살피느니라. |

A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident. |
지혜로운 자는 두려워하여 악을 떠나거니와 어리석은 자는 격노하며 자만하느니라. |

He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated. |
급히 노하는 자는 어리석게 행하며 사악한 꾀들을 꾸미는 자는 미움을 받느니라. |

The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. |
단순한 자는 어리석음을 상속하거니와 분별 있는 자는 지식으로 관을 쓰느니라. |

The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous. |
악한 자들은 선한 자들 앞에서 절하고 사악한 자들은 의로운 자들의 문들에서 절하느니라. |

The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends. |
가난한 자는 자기 이웃에게도 미움을 받으나 부유한 자는 친구가 많으니라. |

|
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. |
자기 이웃을 멸시하는 자는 죄를 짓되 가난한 자에게 긍휼을 베푸는 자는 행복하니라. |

|
Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good. |
악을 꾀하는 자들은 잘못하지 아니하느냐? 그러나 선을 꾀하는 자들에게는 긍휼과 진리가 있으리로다. |

|
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. |
모든 수고에는 유익이 있어도 입술의 말은 빈곤에 이를 뿐이니라. |

The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly. |
지혜로운 자들의 왕관은 그들의 재물이나 어리석은 자들의 어리석음은 어리석은 짓이니라. |

A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies. |
진실한 증인은 혼들을 건지거니와 속이는 증인은 거짓말을 하느니라. |

In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. |
주의 두려움 속에 강한 확신이 있나니 그분의 자녀들에게는 피난처가 있으리라. |

주를 두려워하는 것은 생명 샘이라 사망의 올무들에서 벗어나게 하느니라. |

백성이 많은 것은 왕의 영예이나 백성이 적은 것은 통치자의 멸망이니라. |

He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. |
진노하기를 더디 하는 자는 큰 명철이 있으나 영이 조급한 자는 어리석음을 높이느니라. |

A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones. |
건전한 마음은 육체의 생명이나 시기는 뼈를 썩게 하는 것이니라. |

가난한 사람을 학대하는 자는 그를 만드신 분을 모욕하되 그분을 공경하는 자는 가난한 사람에게 긍휼을 베푸느니라. |

사악한 자는 자기의 사악함 가운데서 쫓겨나거니와 의로운 자는 자기의 죽음 가운데서도 소망을 갖느니라. |

Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known. |
지혜는 명철이 있는 자의 마음에 머물거니와 어리석은 자들의 중심에 있는 것은 알려지느니라. |

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. |
의는 한 민족을 높이거니와 죄는 어느 백성에게나 수치거리가 되느니라. |

왕의 호의는 지혜로운 종을 향하거니와 그의 진노는 수치를 끼치는 자를 향하느니라. |
