거짓된 저울은 주께 가증한 것이나 공정한 추는 그분께서 기뻐하시는 것이니라. |

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. |
교만이 오면 수치도 오거니와 겸손한 자에게는 지혜가 있느니라. |

|
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. |
곧바른 자들의 순전함은 그들을 인도하려니와 범법자들의 거역함은 그들을 망하게 하리로다. |

|
Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. |
재물은 진노의 날에 유익을 끼치지 못하나 의는 사망에서 건지느니라. |

|
The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. |
완전한 자의 의는 그의 길을 인도하려니와 사악한 자는 자기의 사악함으로 말미암아 넘어지리로다. |

|
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. |
곧바른 자들의 의는 그들을 건지려니와 범법자들은 자기들의 해악으로 인해 붙잡히리로다. |

|
When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth. |
사악한 자가 죽으면 그의 기대하는 바가 사라지리니 불의한 자들의 소망은 사라지느니라. |

|
The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead. |
의로운 자는 고난에서 구출되며 그를 대신해서 사악한 자가 오느니라. |

|
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. |
위선자는 자기 입으로 자기 이웃을 망하게 하나 의인은 지식으로 말미암아 구출되리로다. |

|
When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. |
의로운 자가 잘되면 도시가 기뻐하고 사악한 자가 망하면 환호하느니라. |

|
By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. |
도시는 곧바른 자의 축복으로 인하여 높여지나 사악한 자의 입으로 인하여 무너지느니라. |

|
He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace. |
지혜가 없는 자는 자기 이웃을 멸시하나 명철한 자는 잠잠하느니라. |

A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. |
소문을 퍼뜨리는 자는 은밀한 일들을 드러내나 신실한 영을 지닌 자는 문제를 숨기느니라. |

|
Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. |
조언이 없으면 백성이 넘어져도 조언자가 많으면 안전이 있느니라. |

|
He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure. |
낯선 자를 위해 보증인이 되는 자는 그 일로 인하여 괴로워할 것이로되 보증을 서기 싫어하는 자는 안전하니라. |

|
A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches. |
은혜로운 여자는 명예를 유지하며 강한 남자들은 재물을 유지하느니라. |

|
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. |
긍휼을 베푸는 자는 자기 혼에게 선을 행하나 잔인한 자는 자기 육체를 괴롭게 하느니라. |

|
The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. |
사악한 자는 속이는 일을 행하나 의를 뿌리는 자에게는 확실한 보상이 있으리로다. |

|
As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death. |
의가 생명에 이르는 것 같이 악을 따르는 자는 그것을 따르다가 스스로 사망에 이르느니라. |

|
They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight. |
비뚤어진 마음을 가진 자들은 주께 가증한 자들이나 자기 길에서 곧바른 자들은 그분께서 기뻐하시는 자들이니라. |

|
Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. |
사악한 자는 손에 손을 잡을지라도 벌을 면하지 못할 터이나 의로운 자의 씨는 구출되리라. |

|
As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion. |
아름다운 여자가 분별이 없는 것은 돼지 코의 금 보석 같으니라. |

The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath. |
의로운 자의 소원은 오직 선할 뿐이나 사악한 자의 기대하는 바는 진노이니라. |

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. |
흩을지라도 여전히 불어나는 일이 있고 지나치게 아낄지라도 가난에 이르는 일이 있느니라. |

|
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. |
후하게 주는 혼은 기름지게 되며 물을 대는 자는 자기도 물을 받으리라. |

He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. |
곡식을 움켜쥐는 자는 백성이 저주할 터이나 곡식을 파는 자의 머리에는 복이 있으리라. |

|
He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. |
부지런히 선을 구하는 자는 호의를 얻으려니와 해악을 구하는 자에게는 해악이 임하리라. |

He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. |
자기 재물을 신뢰하는 자는 넘어지려니와 의로운 자는 나뭇가지처럼 번성하리라. |

He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart. |
자기 집을 어지럽히는 자는 바람을 상속하며 어리석은 자는 마음이 지혜로운 자의 종이 되리라. |

|
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. |
의로운 자의 열매는 생명나무니 혼들을 얻는 자는 지혜로우니라. |

|
Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner. |
보라, 의로운 자는 땅에서 보응을 받을 것이요, 사악한 자와 죄인은 더욱 더 받으리로다. |
