누구든지 훈계를 사랑하는 자는 지식을 사랑하거니와 책망을 싫어하는 자는 짐승과 같으니라. |

A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. |
선한 사람은 주의 호의를 얻으려니와 사악한 꾀를 부리는 사람은 그분께서 정죄하시리라. |

A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved. |
사람이 사악함을 힘입어서는 굳게 서지 못하려니와 의로운 자의 뿌리는 흔들리지 아니하리로다. |

A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. |
현숙한 여인은 자기 남편의 화관이거니와 부끄럽게 하는 여인은 그의 뼈 속의 썩은 것과 같으니라. |

|
The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. |
의로운 자들의 생각들은 올바르나 사악한 자들의 계략들은 속임수이니라. |

The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. |
사악한 자들의 말들은 숨어 기다리며 피를 흘리는 것이로되 곧바른 자들의 입은 그들을 건지리로다. |

|
The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand. |
사악한 자들은 쓰러져서 있지 아니하나 의로운 자의 집은 서리로다. |

A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised. |
사람은 자기 지혜대로 칭찬을 받으려니와 마음이 비뚤어진 자는 멸시를 받으리라. |

He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread. |
멸시를 받을지라도 종을 거느리는 자는 자기를 높이고도 빵이 부족한 자보다 나으니라. |

A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. |
의로운 사람은 자기 짐승의 생명을 중히 여기나 사악한 자의 친절한 긍휼은 잔인하니라. |

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding. |
자기 땅을 가는 자는 빵으로 만족을 얻으려니와 허탄한 자들을 따르는 자는 명철이 없느니라. |

The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit. |
사악한 자는 악인들의 그물을 원하나 의로운 자의 뿌리는 열매를 내느니라. |

The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. |
사악한 자는 자기 입술의 범법으로 말미암아 올무에 걸리나 의인은 고난에서 벗어나리로다. |

A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him. |
사람은 자기 입의 열매로 말미암아 좋은 것으로 만족을 얻을 것이요, 사람의 손의 보답이 그에게 돌아가리라. |

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. |
어리석은 자의 길은 그의 눈에 옳으나 권고에 귀를 기울이는 자는 지혜로우니라. |

A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. |
어리석은 자의 진노는 즉시 알려지거니와 분별 있는 자는 수치를 덮느니라. |

He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. |
진리를 말하는 자는 의를 나타내거니와 거짓 증인은 속임수를 나타내느니라. |

There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. |
칼로 찌르듯이 말하는 자가 있거니와 지혜로운 자의 혀는 건강하게 하느니라. |

The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. |
진리의 입술은 영원토록 굳게 세워지려니와 거짓말하는 혀는 잠시 있을 뿐이니라. |

Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. |
악을 꾀하는 자들의 마음에는 속임이 있으나 화평을 꾀하는 자들에게는 기쁨이 있느니라. |

There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief. |
의인에게는 어떤 재앙도 일어나지 아니하려니와 사악한 자에게는 해악이 가득하리라. |

Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. |
거짓말하는 입술은 주께 가증한 것이나 진실하게 행하는 자들은 그분께서 기뻐하시는 자들이니라. |

A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. |
분별 있는 자는 지식을 감추거니와 어리석은 자들의 마음은 어리석음을 선포하느니라. |

The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. |
부지런한 자의 손은 다스릴 것이나 게으른 자는 공세를 바치리라. |

Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad. |
사람의 마음속 근심은 마음을 웅크리게 하나 선한 말은 마음을 기쁘게 하느니라. |

The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. |
의로운 자는 자기 이웃보다 더 뛰어나거니와 사악한 자의 길은 그들을 유혹하느니라. |

The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. |
게으른 사람은 자기가 사냥해서 잡은 것도 굽지 아니하거니와 부지런한 사람의 재산은 귀중하니라. |

In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death. |
