The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. |
왕의 마음이 물 있는 강들과 같이 주의 손 안에 있나니 그분께서 친히 원하시는 곳으로 그것을 돌리시느니라. |

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. |
사람의 모든 길이 그의 눈에는 옳게 보여도 주께서는 마음을 살피시느니라. |

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. |
정의와 판단의 공의를 행하는 것이 희생물보다 더 주께서 받으실 만하니라. |

An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. |
거만한 눈빛과 교만한 마음과 사악한 자의 쟁기질은 죄니라. |

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. |
부지런한 자들의 생각들은 오직 풍족함으로 이끌거니와 조급한 모든 자의 생각들은 궁핍함으로 이끌 뿐이니라. |

|
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. |
거짓말하는 혀로 보물을 얻는 것은 죽음을 구하는 자들이 이리저리 내던지는 헛된 것이니라. |

|
The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment. |
사악한 자들의 강탈이 그들을 멸망시키리니 그들은 판단의 공의 행하기를 거절하느니라. |

The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right. |
사람의 길은 비뚤어지고 낯설거니와 순수한 자로 말하건대 그의 일은 옳으니라. |

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. |
다투는 여자와 함께 넓은 집에서 사는 것보다 지붕 모퉁이에서 사는 것이 나으니라. |

The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes. |
사악한 자의 혼은 재앙을 바라므로 그의 이웃이 그의 눈에 호의를 입지 못하느니라. |

When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge. |
비웃는 자가 벌을 받으면 단순한 자가 지혜롭게 되며 지혜로운 자가 훈계를 받으면 지식을 받느니라. |

|
The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness. |
의로운 사람은 지혜롭게 사악한 자의 집을 깊이 살피거니와 하나님은 사악한 자들의 사악함으로 인하여 그들을 뒤엎으시느니라. |

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. |
누구든지 가난한 자의 부르짖음에 귀를 막으면 그가 직접 부르짖어도 역시 들어 줄 자가 없으리라. |

A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath. |
은밀한 선물은 분노를 가라앉히고 품속의 보상은 맹렬한 진노를 가라앉히느니라. |

It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. |
공의를 행하는 것이 의인에게는 기쁨이거니와 불법을 행하는 자들에게는 멸망이 있으리로다. |

The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. |
명철의 길에서 벗어나 방황하는 사람은 죽은 자들의 회중 가운데 남으리라. |

He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich. |
쾌락을 사랑하는 자는 가난한 자가 될 것이요, 포도주와 기름을 사랑하는 자는 부하게 되지 못하리로다. |

|
The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright. |
사악한 자는 의로운 자를 위한 대속물이 되고 범법자는 곧바른 자를 위한 대속물이 되리라. |

It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. |
다투며 성내는 여자와 함께 사는 것보다 광야에서 사는 것이 나으니라. |

There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up. |
지혜로운 자의 거처에는 갖기를 바라는 보물과 기름이 있으나 어리석은 자는 그것을 낭비하느니라. |

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. |
의와 긍휼을 따르는 자는 생명과 의와 명예를 얻느니라. |

|
A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof. |
지혜로운 자는 용사의 도시에 올라가 그것이 신뢰하는 힘을 무너뜨리느니라. |

|
Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. |
누구든지 자기 입과 혀를 지키는 자는 자기 혼을 지켜 고난들에서 벗어나게 하느니라. |

Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. |
교만한 진노 가운데 행하는 자를 가리켜 교만하고 건방져서 비웃는 자라 하느니라. |

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. |
게으른 자의 손은 수고하기를 거부하므로 그의 욕망이 그를 죽이느니라. |

|
He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not. |
그는 종일토록 게걸스럽게 탐욕을 부리거니와 의로운 자는 아끼지 아니하고 베푸느니라. |

|
The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind? |
사악한 자의 희생물은 가증한 것이거늘 하물며 그가 사악한 생각으로 그것을 가져오면 얼마나 더 가증하겠느냐? |

|
A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly. |
거짓 증인은 멸망하려니와 듣는 사람은 확고하게 말하느니라. |

A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way. |
사악한 자는 자기 얼굴을 굳게 하나 곧바른 자로 말하건대 그는 자기 길을 관리하느니라. |

|
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. |
주를 대적할 수 있는 지혜나 명철이나 계략은 없느니라. |

|
The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD. |
싸울 날에 대비하여 말을 예비해도 안전은 주에게서 오느니라. |
