Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool. |
가난해도 순전함 가운데 걷는 자는 입술이 비뚤어지고 어리석은 자보다 나으니라. |

Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. |
또한 혼에게 지식이 없으면 그것은 선하지 아니하며 발이 급한 사람은 죄를 짓느니라. |

The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD. |
사람의 어리석음이 그의 길을 굽게 하고는 그의 마음이 주를 향해 안달하느니라. |

Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour. |
재물은 많은 친구를 만드나 가난한 자는 자기 이웃으로부터 격리되느니라. |

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. |
거짓 증인은 벌을 면하지 못하며 거짓말하는 자는 피하지 못하리라. |

Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts. |
많은 사람이 통치자의 호의를 간청할 것이요, 선물을 주는 자에게는 모든 사람이 친구가 되느니라. |

|
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him. |
가난한 자는 그의 모든 형제들도 미워하거늘 하물며 그의 친구들이야 얼마나 더 그를 멀리하겠느냐? 그가 많은 말로 그들을 따라갈지라도 그들은 그에게서 떠나가느니라. |

He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. |
지혜를 얻는 자는 자기 혼을 사랑하나니 명철을 지키는 자는 좋은 것을 얻으리라. |

거짓 증인은 벌을 면하지 못할 것이요, 거짓말하는 자는 망하리라. |

Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes. |
즐거움은 어리석은 자에게 어울리지 아니하며 종이 통치자들을 다스리는 것은 훨씬 더 어울리지 아니하느니라. |

The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression. |
사람의 신중함이 그의 분노를 늦추며 범법을 간과하는 것이 그의 영광이니라. |

The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass. |
왕의 진노는 사자의 울부짖음 같거니와 그의 호의는 풀 위의 이슬 같으니라. |

A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. |
어리석은 아들은 그의 아버지의 재앙이요, 아내의 말다툼은 계속해서 떨어지는 물방울이니라. |

House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD. |
집과 재물은 조상들에게서 상속받거니와 분별 있는 아내는 주로부터 오느니라. |

Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. |
게으름은 깊은 잠에 빠지게 하나니 빈둥거리는 혼은 굶주림을 당하리로다. |

He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. |
명령을 지키는 자는 자기 혼을 지키거니와 그분의 길들을 멸시하는 자는 죽으리라. |

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. |
가난한 자를 불쌍히 여기는 자는 주께 빌려 드리나니 그가 베푼 것을 그분께서 그에게 다시 갚아 주시리라. |

|
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. |
소망이 있을 동안에 네 아들을 징계하되 그가 운다고 네 혼이 아끼지 말지니라. |

A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again. |
크게 진노하는 자는 벌을 받으리니 네가 그를 건질지라도 반드시 또 그 일을 해야 하느니라. |

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. |
권고를 들으며 훈계를 받으라. 그리하면 네가 네 마지막 끝에 지혜롭게 되리라. |

There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. |
사람의 마음에 많은 계획이 있을지라도 주의 뜻, 그것만 서리라. |

The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar. |
사람에게서 바랄 바는 그의 친절함이거니와 가난한 자가 거짓말쟁이보다 나으니라. |

The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. |
주를 두려워함이 생명에 이르게 하나니 그것을 지닌 자는 흡족히 지내고 재앙으로 징벌을 받지 아니하리라. |

A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. |
게으른 자는 자기 손을 품에 감추고 그것을 다시 자기 입으로 가져가려 하지도 아니하느니라. |

Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge. |
비웃는 자를 때리라. 그리하면 단순한 자가 주의하리라. 명철이 있는 자를 책망하라. 그리하면 그가 지식을 깨달으리라. |

He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach. |
자기 아버지를 폐물로 만들고 자기 어머니를 쫓아내는 자는 수치를 끼치며 치욕을 가져오는 아들이니라. |

Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge. |
내 아들아, 지식의 말씀들에서 벗어나 잘못하게 하는 훈계 듣기를 그칠지어다. |

An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity. |
경건치 아니한 증인은 판단의 공의를 비웃고 사악한 자의 입은 불법을 삼키느니라. |

Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools. |
심판은 비웃는 자를 위해 예비되어 있으며 채찍은 어리석은 자의 등을 위해 예비되어 있느니라. |
