Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said, |
그때에 데만 사람 엘리바스가 응답하여 이르되, |

|
Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind? |
지혜로운 자가 헛된 지식을 말하며 동풍으로 자기 배를 채우겠느냐? |

| 욥 15:3 |
|
Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good? |
그가 무익한 이야기로 변론하겠느냐? 혹은 아무 효력 없는 말로 변론하겠느냐? |

| 욥 15:4 |
|
Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God. |
참으로 네가 두려워하는 것을 내버리고 하나님 앞에 기도하는 것을 그만두나니 |

|
For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty. |
네 입이 네 불법을 말하며 네가 간교한 자의 혀를 택하는도다. |

| 욥 15:6 |
|
Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee. |
너를 정죄하는 것은 내가 아니요, 네 입이라. 참으로 네 입술이 너를 대적하여 증언하느니라. |

|
Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills? |
네가 맨 처음에 태어난 사람이냐? 작은 산들이 있기 전에 네가 만들어졌느냐? |

|
Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself? |
네가 하나님의 은밀한 일을 들었느냐? 그래서 네게만 지혜가 있게 하려느냐? |

| 욥 15:9 |
|
What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us? |
너는 아는데 우리는 알지 못하는 것이 무엇이냐? 너는 깨닫는데 우리에게는 없는 것이 무엇이냐? |

| 욥 15:10 |
|
With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father. |
우리에게는 머리가 흰 사람도 있고 심히 연로한 사람도 있으며 네 아버지보다 훨씬 더 늙은 사람도 있느니라. |

|
Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee? |
하나님의 위로가 네게는 작으냐? 네게 무슨 은밀한 것이 있느냐? |

|
Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at, |
어찌하여 네 마음이 너를 끌고 다니느냐? 네 눈이 무엇에다 눈짓을 하기에 |

|
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth? |
네가 네 영을 돌이켜 하나님을 대적하고 네 입에서 그런 말들이 나오게 하느냐? |

| 욥 15:14 |
|
What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? |
사람이 무엇이기에 깨끗하겠느냐? 여자에게서 태어난 자가 무엇이기에 의롭겠느냐? |

| 욥 15:15 |
|
Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. |
보라, 그분께서는 자신의 성도들을 신뢰하지 아니하시나니 참으로 하늘들이라도 그분의 눈앞에서 깨끗하지 아니하거든 |

|
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water? |
하물며 불법을 물 마시듯 하는 사람이야 얼마나 더 가증하고 더럽겠느냐? |

|
I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare; |
내가 네게 보여 주리니 내 말을 들으라. 내가 본 것을 밝히 보이리니 |

| 욥 15:18 |
|
Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it: |
지혜로운 자들이 자기 조상들에게서 그것을 받아 고하였고 그것을 숨기지 아니하였느니라. |

|
Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them. |
땅은 그들에게만 주어졌으며 어떤 낯선 자도 그들 가운데로 지나가지 아니하였느니라. |

|
The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor. |
사악한 자는 그의 평생 동안 아픔으로 고통을 당하고 그분께서 학대하는 자에게 그의 햇수를 숨기셨으므로 |

|
A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him. |
그의 귀에 무서운 소리가 있도다. 그가 형통할 때에 파멸시키는 자가 그에게 닥치리니 |

| 욥 15:22 |
|
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword. |
그는 자기가 어둠 속에서 돌아올 것을 믿지 아니하고 칼이 그를 기다리느니라. |

| 욥 15:23 |
|
He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. |
그는 널리 헤매면서 빵을 구하여 이르기를, 그것이 어디 있느냐? 하며 어둠의 날이 자기에게 가까이 온 줄을 아느니라. |

|
Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle. |
고난과 고통이 그를 두렵게 하며 싸움을 준비한 왕처럼 그를 쳐서 이기리니 |

| 욥 15:25 |
|
For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty. |
이는 그가 자기 손을 내밀어 하나님을 대적하며 자신을 강하게 하여 전능자를 대적하기 때문이라. |

|
He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers: |
그가 그분께 달려들되 심지어 그분의 목과 그분의 방패들의 새긴 장식에까지 달려드나니 |

|
Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks. |
이는 그가 자기 기름으로 자기 얼굴을 덮고 자기 옆구리를 기름진 겹 살이 되게 하기 때문이니라. |

|
And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps. |
그는 황폐한 도시들과 사람이 거주하지 아니하는 집 곧 돌무더기가 될 집들에 거하느니라. |

|
He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth. |
그는 부자가 되지 못하며 그의 재산은 지속되지 못하고 또 그가 자기 재산을 땅 위에서 완전히 늘리지 못하리라. |

|
He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away. |
그가 어둠 속을 벗어나 떠나지 못하리니 불꽃이 그의 가지들을 말릴 것이요, 그분의 입의 숨으로 말미암아 그가 떠나가리라. |

|
Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence. |
속임을 당하는 자는 헛된 것을 신뢰하지 말지니 헛된 것이 그의 보응이 되리라. |

|
It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green. |
그의 때가 이르기도 전에 그 일이 이루어질 터인즉 그의 가지가 푸르지 못하리니 |

|
He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive. |
그는 포도나무처럼 자기의 설익은 포도를 흔들어 떨어뜨릴 것이요, 올리브나무처럼 자기의 꽃을 떨어뜨리리라. |

|
For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery. |
위선자들의 회중은 황폐하게 되며 뇌물을 받는 자의 장막들은 불로 소멸되리니 |

|
They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit. |
그들은 해악을 수태하고 헛된 것을 낳으며 그들의 배는 속임수를 예비하느니라, 하니라. |
