Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, |
그때에 주께서 회오리바람 속에서 욥에게 응답하여 이르시되, |

Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? |
지식이 없는 말들로 이치를 어둡게 하는 이자는 누구냐? |

| 욥 38:3 |
|
Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. |
이제 남자답게 허리를 동이고 내가 네게 물을 터이니 너는 내게 대답할지니라. |

| 욥 38:4 |
|
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. |
내가 땅의 기초들을 놓을 때에 네가 어디 있었느냐? 네게 명철이 있거든 밝히 고하라. |

| 욥 38:5 |
|
Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? |
누가 그것의 치수들을 정하였는지 네가 아느냐? 누가 그것 위에 줄을 팽팽히 쳤느냐? |

| 욥 38:6 |
|
Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; |
그것의 기초들을 어디에 고정하였느냐? 혹은 그것의 모퉁잇돌을 누가 놓았느냐? |

| 욥 38:7 |
|
When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? |
어느 때에 새벽별들이 함께 노래하고 하나님의 모든 아들들이 기뻐 소리를 질렀느냐? |

| 욥 38:8 |
|
Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? |
혹은 바다가 태에서 나오는 것 같이 터져 나왔을 때에 누가 문들로 그것을 막았느냐? |

|
When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, |
어느 때에 내가 구름으로 그것의 옷을 만들고 짙은 어둠으로 그것을 위해 포대기를 만들며 |

| 욥 38:10 |
|
And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, |
그것을 위해 내가 지정한 곳을 터지게 하고 빗장들과 문들을 세우며 |

| 욥 38:11 |
|
And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed? |
이르기를, 네가 여기까지만 오고 더 멀리는 가지 못하리니 너의 교만한 파도가 여기서 그칠지니라, 하였느냐? |

| 욥 38:12 |
|
Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; |
네 날이 시작된 이래로 네가 아침에게 명령한 적이 있으며 동트는 때로 하여금 제 처소를 알게 하여 |

|
That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? |
땅의 끝들을 굳게 붙들게 하고 그곳에서 사악한 자를 흔들어 떠나게 한 적이 있느냐? |

|
It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment. |
그것이 변하여 봉인하는 데 쓰는 진흙이 되었으며 그것들이 옷같이 서 있느니라. |

|
And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken. |
사악한 자들에게는 그들을 비추던 빛이 차단되고 높이 든 팔이 꺾이리로다. |

|
Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth? |
네가 바다의 샘들 속으로 들어간 적이 있느냐? 혹은 네가 깊은 곳을 찾아 다니며 거닌 적이 있느냐? |

| 욥 38:17 |
|
Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death? |
사망의 문들이 네게 열린 적이 있느냐? 혹은 네가 사망의 그늘의 문들을 본 적이 있느냐? |

|
Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all. |
네가 땅의 너비를 깨달아 안 적이 있느냐? 네가 그것을 모두 알거든 밝히 고할지니라. |

| 욥 38:19 |
|
Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, |
빛이 거하는 길이 어디에 있느냐? 또 어둠으로 말하자면 그것의 거처가 어디기에 |

|
That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof? |
네가 그것을 데려다가 그것의 경계에 이르게 하며 또 그것의 집으로 가는 행로들을 알겠느냐? |

| 욥 38:21 |
|
Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great? |
네가 그때에 태어났기에 그것을 아느냐? 혹은 네 날수가 많기에 그것을 아느냐? |

| 욥 38:22 |
|
Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, |
네가 눈이 있는 곳간에 들어간 적이 있느냐? 혹은 네가 우박이 있는 곳간을 본 적이 있느냐? |

| 욥 38:23 |
|
Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? |
내가 고난의 때와 전투와 전쟁의 날에 대비하여 그것을 남겨 두었느니라. |

| 욥 38:24 |
|
By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? |
빛이 어느 길로 갈라져서 동풍이 땅 위에 흩어지게 하느냐? |

| 욥 38:25 |
|
Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; |
누가 넘쳐흐르는 물을 위하여 물길을 갈라놓았으며 혹은 천둥의 번개가 다닐 길을 갈라놓아 |

|
To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man; |
그것으로 하여금 아무도 없는 땅과 아무도 거하지 않는 광야에 비를 내리게 하며 |

|
To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth? |
황폐하고 피폐한 땅을 흡족하게 하고 연한 채소로 하여금 싹을 내게 하였느냐? |

|
Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew? |
비에게 아버지가 있느냐? 혹은 이슬방울은 누가 낳았느냐? |

|
Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? |
얼음은 누구의 태에서 나왔느냐? 하늘의 흰 서리는 누가 생기게 하였느냐? |

|
The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. |
물들은 돌로 숨긴 것 같이 숨겨져 있고 깊음의 표면은 얼어 있느니라. |

|
Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? |
네가 플레이아데스 별무리의 감미로운 영향력을 묶거나 오리온 별자리의 띠들을 풀 수 있느냐? |

|
Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? |
네가 마자롯을 그것의 철에 이끌어 낼 수 있느냐? 혹은 네가 악투루스 별을 그것의 아들들과 함께 인도할 수 있느냐? |

Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? |
네가 하늘의 규례들을 아느냐? 네가 하늘의 통치권을 땅에 세울 수 있느냐? |

|
Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee? |
네가 네 목소리를 높여서 구름들에게까지 이르게 하여 많은 물들이 너를 덮게 할 수 있느냐? |

|
Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are? |
네가 번개들을 보내매 그들이 가서 네게 이르기를, 우리가 여기 있나이다, 하게 할 수 있느냐? |

|
Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart? |
누가 속 중심부에 지혜를 넣어 주었느냐? 혹은 누가 마음에게 명철을 주었느냐? |

|
Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven, |
누가 지혜로 구름을 셀 수 있겠느냐? 혹은 누가 하늘의 부대들을 붙들어서 |

|
When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together? |
흙이 굳어지고 흙덩이들이 서로 단단히 엉길 때에 가만히 있게 할 수 있겠느냐? |

|
Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions, |
네가 사자를 위해 먹이를 사냥하겠느냐? 혹은 젊은 사자들의 식욕을 채워 주겠느냐? |

|
When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait? |
그것들이 굴에서 웅크리고 숨는 곳에서 숨어 기다릴 때에 그리하겠느냐? |

|
Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat. |
까마귀 새끼들이 하나님께 울부짖으며 먹을 것이 없어 헤맬 때에 누가 까마귀를 위해 그것의 먹을 것을 마련해 주느냐? |
