Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? |
네가 낚시 바늘로 리워야단을 끌어낼 수 있겠느냐? 혹은 네가 늘어뜨리는 줄로 그의 혀를 끌어낼 수 있겠느냐? |

Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? |
네가 그의 코에 낚시 바늘을 걸 수 있겠느냐? 혹은 가시로 그의 턱을 꿸 수 있겠느냐? |

|
Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? |
그가 네게 많은 간구를 하겠느냐? 그가 네게 부드러운 말들을 하겠느냐? |

Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? |
그가 너와 언약을 맺겠느냐? 네가 그를 영원히 종으로 삼겠느냐? |

Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? |
네가 새와 놀 듯 그와 놀겠느냐? 혹은 네가 네 여종들을 위하여 그를 묶겠느냐? |

|
Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? |
벗들이 그를 가지고 잔치를 벌이겠느냐? 그들이 상인들 사이에서 그를 나누겠느냐? |

|
Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? |
네가 그의 가죽을 쇠꼬챙이로 채울 수 있겠느냐? 혹은 그의 머리를 물고기 작살로 채울 수 있겠느냐? |

|
Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. |
네 손을 그에게 대어 본 뒤에 싸움을 기억하고 다시는 그리하지 말라. |

|
Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? |
보라, 그에 대한 소망은 헛되니 사람이 그를 보기만 해도 낙심하지 아니하겠느냐? |

|
None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? |
아무도 감히 그를 흥분시킬 만큼 사납지 아니하거든 누가 능히 내 앞에 설 수 있겠느냐? |

|
Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. |
누가 나보다 앞섰기에 내가 그에게 갚아야 하느냐? 무엇이든지 온 하늘 아래 있는 것은 다 내 것이니라. |

|
I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. |
내가 그의 지체들과 그의 능력과 그가 알맞게 균형 잡힌 것에 대하여 숨기지 아니하리라. |

|
Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? |
누가 그의 옷 껍질을 드러내겠느냐? 혹은 누가 자기의 두 겹 굴레를 가지고 그에게 갈 수 있겠느냐? |

|
Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about. |
누가 그의 얼굴의 문들을 열 수 있겠느냐? 그의 이빨은 무섭게 빙 둘러 돋아 있도다. |

|
His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. |
촘촘한 봉인처럼 서로 닫혀 있는 그의 비늘은 그의 자랑이로다. |

|
One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. |
비늘과 비늘이 너무 가까이 있어 그 사이에 공기도 들어갈 수 없으며 |

| 욥 41:17 |
|
They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. |
그것들이 서로 연결되어 붙어 있으니 나눌 수도 없도다. |

|
By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. |
그가 재채기를 한즉 빛이 빛나고 그의 눈은 아침의 눈꺼풀 같으며 |

|
Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. |
그의 입에서는 타는 등불들이 나오고 불꽃들이 튀어나오며 |

|
Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. |
그의 콧구멍에서는 끓는 솥이나 가마솥에서 나오는 것 같이 연기가 나오는도다. |

|
His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. |
그의 숨은 숯을 피우고 그의 입에서는 불꽃이 나오며 |

|
In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. |
그의 목에는 힘이 머물러 있고 그 앞에서는 슬픔이 기쁨으로 변하며 |

|
The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. |
그의 살 조각들은 서로 연결되고 자기들 속에서 단단하여 움직이지 아니하며 |

|
His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. |
그의 심장은 돌처럼 단단하고 참으로 맷돌의 아래 판같이 단단하도다. |

|
When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. |
그가 스스로 일어설 때에는 강력한 자들이 무서워하며 쳐부숨으로 인하여 자신을 정결하게 하는도다. |

|
The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. |
그에게 달려드는 자의 칼도 견디지 못하며 창이나 작은 창이나 사슬갑옷도 견디지 못하는도다. |

|
He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. |
그는 쇠를 지푸라기같이, 놋을 썩은 나무같이 여기나니 |

|
The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. |
화살이라도 그를 도망하게 할 수 없고 무릿매의 돌도 그에게는 지푸라기가 되는도다. |

|
Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. |
그가 작은 창도 지푸라기같이 여기나니 그가 창을 흔드는 것도 비웃는도다. |

|
Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. |
그의 아래쪽에는 날카로운 돌들이 있나니 그가 진흙 위에 뾰쪽한 것들을 퍼뜨리고 |

|
He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. |
깊음을 솥이 끓는 것 같이 끓게 하며 바다를 향유 단지같이 만드는도다. |

|
He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. |
그가 자기 뒤에 길을 만들어 빛나게 하므로 사람이 깊음을 백발 같다고 생각하리라. |

|
Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. |
땅 위에는 그처럼 생긴 것이 없나니 그는 두려움 없는 존재로 만들어졌느니라. |

|
He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride. |
그는 모든 높은 것을 바라보는 자요, 모든 교만한 자녀들을 다스리는 왕이니라, 하시니라. |
