Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words. |
그러므로 욥이여, 원하건대 내가 말하는 것을 듣고 내 모든 말에 귀를 기울이라. |

|
Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth. |
보라, 이제 내가 내 입을 열었고 내 혀가 내 입에서 말을 하였도다. |

|
My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly. |
내 마음의 올바름 속에서 내 말들이 나오며 내 입술은 지식을 분명하게 말하리로다. |

|
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. |
하나님의 영께서 나를 만드셨고 전능자의 숨이 내게 생명을 주었느니라. |

| 욥 33:5 |
|
If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up. |
만일 그대가 내게 대답할 수 있거든 내 앞에서 그대의 말을 질서 있게 제시하고 일어서라. |

|
Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay. |
보라, 내가 그대의 소원대로 하나님을 대신하노니 나 역시 진흙에서 빚어졌느니라. |

|
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee. |
보라, 나의 두려움이 그대를 무섭게 하지 아니하겠고 나의 손도 그대를 무겁게 누르지 아니하리라. |

|
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying, |
그대는 분명히 내가 듣는 데서 말하였고 나는 그대의 말소리를 들었나니 이르기를, |

|
I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me. |
나는 범법이 없이 깨끗하며 무죄하고 내 안에는 불법도 없거늘 |

|
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy, |
보라, 그분께서 나를 대적할 기회들을 찾으시며 나를 자신의 원수로 여기사 |

|
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths. |
내 발을 차꼬에 채우시고 내 모든 행로를 주목하신다, 하였느니라. |

|
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man. |
보라, 그대가 옳지 못한 점이 이것이니 내가 그대에게 대답하리라. 하나님은 사람보다 크시거늘 |

|
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters. |
어찌하여 그대가 그분과 다투느냐? 그분께서는 자신의 일들 중의 어떤 것도 해명하지 아니하시느니라. |

|
For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. |
하나님은 한 번 말씀하시고 참으로 두 번 말씀하시되 사람이 그것을 깨닫지 못하느니라. |

| 욥 33:15 |
|
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; |
사람들이 깊은 잠에 빠져 꿈을 꾸거나 밤의 환상 가운데 있거나 잠자리에서 선잠을 잘 때에 |

|
Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, |
그분께서 사람들의 귀를 여시고 그들을 위한 교훈을 봉하시나니 |

| 욥 33:17 |
|
That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. |
이것은 그분께서 사람을 그의 계획에서 물러나게 하려 하심이며 또 사람에게서 교만을 치워 숨기려 하심이라. |

| 욥 33:18 |
|
He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword. |
그분께서는 그의 혼이 구덩이에 빠지지 아니하게 하시며 그의 생명이 칼로 멸망되지 아니하게 하시느니라. |

| 욥 33:19 |
|
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain: |
그는 또한 자기 침상에서 아픔으로 징계를 받으며 심한 아픔으로 그의 많은 뼈가 징계를 받나니 |

| 욥 33:20 |
|
So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat. |
이로써 그의 생명은 빵을, 그의 혼은 맛있는 음식을 몹시 싫어하며 |

| 욥 33:21 |
|
His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out. |
그의 살은 소멸되어 보이지 아니하고 보이지 아니하던 그의 뼈들이 드러나서 |

| 욥 33:22 |
|
Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers. |
참으로 그의 혼은 무덤에, 그의 생명은 멸하는 자들에게 가까이 이르느니라. |

|
If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness: |
만일 천명 가운데 하나 곧 해석하는 자요 그와 함께하는 사자(使者)가 있어서 사람에게 그의 곧바른 길을 보일진대 |

Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. |
그때에 그분께서 그에게 은혜를 베풀며 이르시되, 그를 건져 내어 구덩이로 내려가지 않게 하라. 내가 대속물을 얻었다, 하시나니 |

|
His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth: |
그의 살이 어린아이의 살보다 생기가 넘치며 그가 자기의 젊은 시절로 돌아가리라. |

|
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness. |
그가 하나님께 기도하리니 그분께서 그에게 호의를 베푸실 것이요, 그가 기뻐하며 그분의 얼굴을 뵈리니 그분께서 사람에게 자신의 의를 베푸시리라. |

He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not; |
그분께서 사람들을 살피시거늘 만일 누가 이르되, 내가 죄를 짓고 옳은 것을 굽게 하였는데 그것이 내게 유익하지 아니하였나이다, 하면 |

|
He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. |
그분께서 그의 혼을 건져 내사 구덩이로 내려가지 않게 하시리니 그의 생명이 빛을 보리라. |

Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man, |
보라, 하나님께서 때때로 사람에게 이 모든 일을 행하시는 것은 |

|
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living. |
그의 혼을 구덩이에서 끌어내시고 살아 있는 자의 빛으로 빛을 받게 하려 하심이라. |

|
Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak. |
오 욥이여, 잘 주목하고 내 말에 귀를 기울이라. 잠잠하라. 내가 말하리라. |

|
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee. |
만일 네가 할 말이 있거든 내게 응답하여 말하라. 나는 그대를 의롭게 하기를 원하느니라. |

|
If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom. |
만일 없거든 내 말에 귀를 기울이고 잠잠하라. 내가 그대에게 지혜를 가르치리라, 하니라. |
