Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said, |
또 주께서 욥에게 응답하여 이르시되, |

|
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it. |
전능자와 다투는 자가 그분을 가르치겠느냐? 하나님을 책망하는 자는 그것에 대답할지니라, 하시니라. |

| 욥 40:3 |
|
¶ Then Job answered the LORD, and said, |
¶ 그때에 욥이 주께 응답하여 이르되, |

| 욥 40:4 |
|
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. |
보소서, 나는 비천한 자이오니 내가 주께 무엇을 대답하리이까? 내가 내 손으로 입을 막으리이다. |

| 욥 40:5 |
|
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further. |
내가 한 번 말하였사오나 응답하지 아니하겠나이다. 참으로 두 번 말하였사오나 더 계속하지 아니하겠나이다, 하더라. |

| 욥 40:6 |
|
¶ Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said, |
¶ 그때에 주께서 회오리바람 속에서 욥에게 응답하여 이르시되, |

| 욥 40:7 |
|
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. |
이제 너는 남자답게 허리를 동이고 내가 네게 물을 터이니 내게 밝히 고할지니라. |

| 욥 40:8 |
|
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? |
네가 또한 내 판단의 공의를 무효로 만들려 하느냐? 네가 너를 의롭게 하려고 나를 정죄하려 하느냐? |

| 욥 40:9 |
|
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? |
네가 하나님같이 팔을 가지고 있느냐? 혹은 네가 그와 같이 음성으로 천둥소리를 낼 수 있느냐? |
# |
| 욥 40:10 |
|
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. |
이제 네 자신을 위엄과 뛰어남으로 꾸미고 영광과 아름다움으로 단장할지니라. |

| 욥 40:11 |
|
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. |
너의 격한 분노를 내버리고 교만한 모든 자를 눈여겨보며 그를 낮추되 |
# |
| 욥 40:12 |
|
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. |
교만한 모든 자를 살펴보고 그를 낮게 만들며 사악한 자들을 그들의 처소에서 짓밟을지니라. |

| 욥 40:13 |
|
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret. |
그들을 다 같이 흙 속에 감추고 은밀한 가운데 그들의 얼굴을 싸맬지니라. |

| 욥 40:14 |
|
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee. |
그리하면 나도 네 오른손이 너를 구원할 수 있다고 네게 시인하리라. |

| 욥 40:15 |
|
¶ Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. |
¶ 이제 내가 너를 만들 때에 함께 만든 베헤못을 보라. 그가 소처럼 풀을 먹느니라. |

| 욥 40:16 |
|
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. |
이제 보라, 그의 기력은 그의 허리에 있고 그의 힘은 그의 배의 배꼽에 있느니라. |

| 욥 40:17 |
|
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. |
그가 자기 꼬리를 백향목같이 움직이며 그의 고환의 힘줄은 서로 얽혀 있고 |

| 욥 40:18 |
|
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. |
그의 뼈들은 강한 놋 덩이 같으며 그의 뼈들은 쇠막대기 같으니라. |

| 욥 40:19 |
|
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. |
그는 하나님의 길들 중에서 으뜸이거니와 그를 만든 이가 자신의 칼을 그에게 가까이 댈 수 있느니라. |

| 욥 40:20 |
|
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. |
들의 모든 짐승이 노는 산들은 확실히 그를 위하여 먹이를 내느니라. |

| 욥 40:21 |
|
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. |
그가 그늘진 나무 아래와 갈대밭의 숨는 곳과 늪 속에 누워 있나니 |
# |
| 욥 40:22 |
|
The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about. |
그늘진 나무들은 자기들의 그늘로 그를 덮고 시내의 버드나무들도 그를 감싸는도다. |
# |
| 욥 40:23 |
|
Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. |
보라, 그가 강을 마시되 서두르지 아니하나니 그는 자기가 요르단을 자기 입으로 빨아들일 수 있다고 믿느니라. |

|
He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares. |
그가 자기 눈으로 그것을 취하며 그의 코는 올가미들을 꿰뚫는도다. |
