|
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God? |
내가 진실로 그 일이 그런 줄을 알거니와 사람이 어찌 하나님과 견주어 의로우랴? |

| 욥 9:3 |
|
If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand. |
그가 그분과 논쟁하려 할지라도 천 마디에 한 마디도 그분께 대답하지 못하리라. |

| 욥 9:4 |
|
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered? |
그분은 마음이 지혜롭고 힘이 강하시니 누가 자신을 강퍅하게 하여 그분을 거역하고 형통하였느냐? |

| 욥 9:5 |
|
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger. |
그분께서 산들을 옮겨도 그것들이 알지 못하나니 그분께서 분노하사 그것들을 뒤엎으시는도다. |

| 욥 9:6 |
|
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble. |
그분께서 땅을 흔드사 그것의 자리에서 떠나게 하시니 땅의 기둥들이 떠는도다. |

|
Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars. |
그분께서 해에게 명령하사 뜨지 못하게 하시고 별들을 봉하시며 |

|
Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea. |
그분께서 홀로 하늘들을 펴시고 바다의 파도들을 밟으시며 |

|
Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south. |
악투루스 별과 오리온 별자리와 플레이아데스 별무리와 남쪽의 방들을 만드시고 |

| 욥 9:10 |
|
Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number. |
알아낼 수 없는 큰일들을 행하시며 참으로 수도 없이 이적들을 행하시느니라. |

|
Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not. |
보라, 그분께서 내 곁을 지나가셔도 내가 그분을 보지 못하며 그분께서 또한 계속 나아가셔도 내가 그분을 알아내지 못하는도다. |

|
Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou? |
보라, 그분께서 가져가시면 누가 그분을 막을 수 있겠느냐? 누가 그분께 이르기를, 주께서 무엇을 하시나이까, 하겠느냐? |

|
If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him. |
하나님께서 자신의 분노를 거두지 아니하시면 교만한 협력자들이 그분 밑에서 허리를 굽히겠거늘 |

|
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him? |
하물며 내가 어찌 그분께 대답하겠으며 내 말들을 택하여 그분과 변론하겠느냐? |

| 욥 9:15 |
|
Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge. |
비록 내가 의로울지라도 그분께 감히 대답하지 못하겠고 도리어 나를 심판하시는 이에게 간구하리라. |

|
If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice. |
내가 그분을 부르므로 그분께서 내게 응답하셨을지라도 그분께서 내 음성을 들으셨다고는 내가 믿지 아니하리니 |

|
For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause. |
그분께서는 폭풍으로 나를 꺾으시고 까닭 없이 내 상처를 늘리시며 |

|
He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness. |
내가 숨도 쉬지 못하게 하시고 오직 쓰라림으로 나를 채우시는도다. |

|
If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead? |
내가 힘에 대하여 말할진대, 보라, 그분께서는 강하시며 심판에 대하여 말할진대 누가 내게 변호할 시간을 정해 주리요? |

|
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse. |
내가 스스로 의롭다 하면 내 입이 나를 정죄할 것이요, 내가 말하기를, 나는 완전하다, 하면 그 말이 또한 내가 비뚤어진 것을 입증하리라. |

|
Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life. |
비록 내가 완전할지라도 나는 내 혼을 알려 하지 아니할 것이요, 내 생명을 멸시하리로다. |

| 욥 9:22 |
|
This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked. |
이 일이 한 가지라. 그러므로 내가 말하기를, 그분께서 완전한 자와 사악한 자를 멸하신다, 하였도다. |

| 욥 9:23 |
|
If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent. |
채찍이 갑자기 사람을 죽인다 해도 그분께서는 죄 없는 자의 시련을 비웃으시리라. |

| 욥 9:24 |
|
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he? |
그분께서 땅을 사악한 자들의 손에 넘겨주셨으며 땅의 재판관들의 얼굴을 가리시나니 그렇지 아니하면 그분이 어디에 있으며 또 누구이겠느냐? |

|
Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good. |
이제 내 날들이 파발꾼보다 빨리 지나가며 달아나 버리므로 좋은 일을 보지 못하는도다. |

|
They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey. |
그 날들이 빠른 배들처럼 지나갔으며 또 먹이를 향해 치닫는 독수리처럼 지나갔도다. |

|
If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort myself: |
가령 내가 말하기를, 내가 내 원통함을 잊고 내 근심에서 벗어나 내 자신을 위로하리라, 할지라도 |

|
I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent. |
내가 내 모든 고통을 두려워하며 주께서 나를 무죄한 자로 여기지 아니할 줄을 아나이다. |

|
If I be wicked, why then labour I in vain? |
내가 사악할진대 어찌하여 헛되이 수고하나이까? |

|
If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean; |
내가 눈 녹은 물로 내 몸을 씻고 그 어느 때보다도 내 손을 깨끗이 할지라도 |

| 욥 9:31 |
|
Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me. |
주께서 나를 도랑에 빠지게 하시리니 내 옷마저도 나를 몹시 싫어하리이다. |

|
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. |
그분은 나처럼 사람이 아니시므로 내가 그분께 대답할 수도 없으며 우리가 함께 재판을 받으러 갈 수도 없고 |

|
Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both. |
우리 사이에는 우리 둘 위에 손을 얹을 중재인도 없도다. |

|
Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me: |
그분께서 자신의 막대기를 내게서 치우시고 자신의 두려움으로 나를 무섭게 하지 아니하시기를 원하노라. |

| 욥 9:35 |
|
Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me. |
그리하시면 내가 말을 하고 그분을 두려워하지 아니하리로다. 그러나 일이 내게 그렇지 아니하도다. |
